SDL was developed to meet today’s demand for user friendly software adopted to the present technology.

Today all data capture in the field is carried out on total stations and GPS equipment. Measured points will often be attributed a code value indicating point type and topological relations with the former or the following points. SDL interprets this code in connection with transfer of data to DSFL format, DSFL-format, CAD/GIS-format and plotting. Thus an almost finished map can be produced in the field, ready for export to current formats.

SDL is used by a broad range of customers for many different types of jobs, both nationally and abroad. SDL can handle both complex geodetic calculations and basic data operations.

SDL works with ASCII files exclusively – nothing is hidden for the user in databases that are difficult to access or in binary formats.

SDL is built round two pillars: A program module and a CAD program (SGE SDL Graphical Editor). All modules are being continuously developed and are supported for all common Windows platforms (98, NT, 2000, XP, 7, 8, 10).

All modules use intuitive interfaces, so starting is easy. All processes report status and results in separate log/result files.

Furthermore SDL contains its own text editor, with many useful functions, e.g. column editing, point editing etc.
